At Lighthouse Environmental Consultants, our mission is rooted in the legacy of our founder, Jim Rood, who built this company on the foundation of personalized service, deep integrity, and a commitment to healthier homes.

Jim brought his unique perspective as a licensed Realtor to the world of environmental testing, quickly becoming a trusted resource for real estate professionals and homeowners alike. His unmatched knowledge in mold, air, water, and environmental hazards helped countless families and professionals make informed, health-conscious decisions.

For decades, Jim was a proud supporter of the Hudson Gateway Association of Realtors and an active educator, teaching real estate professionals about mold, radon, lead, and other environmental risks. In 2004, he was honored with the Affiliate of the Year Award by the Westchester County Board of Realtors. He also made history as the first—and still only—male president of the Women’s Council of Realtors, Empire Chapter.

Although Jim has passed away, his mission and values remain at the heart of everything we do. Today, our team proudly continues his work with the same passion and professionalism he was known for—delivering thorough, honest, and expert environmental testing services across the Hudson Valley, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and nearby Connecticut.
